Manny Pacquiao must win impressively in his coming title defense against unbeaten challenger Timothy Bradley to regain the luster of his lofty position as the world’s best fighter pound-for-pound, according to respected American trainer Robert Garcia.
Garcia, the Boxing Writer Association of America 2011 Trainer of the Year, observed that a lot of people, including him, were unimpressed by Pacquiao’s controversial majority decision win over arch-rival Juan Manuel Marquez last November 12.

Undefeated Timothy Bradley is like Juan Manuel Marquez in that they’re both resilient, showing a rare ability to recover from knockdowns – a cause for concern as WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao prepares to meet the man called “Desert Storm” at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on June 9.
Marquez was dropped thrice by Pacquiao in the first round but stayed on his feet until the final bell to escape with a split 12-round draw in 2004.

Filipino ring icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao does not deserve a bigger share of pay-per-view revenue if he fights unbeaten boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., because he is not as big a star as the American fighter. This, according to Mayweather’s father, boxing trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr.
Speaking with On The Ropes Boxing Radio, Mayweather said his son was “the man to beat” in boxing thanks to his undefeated record, and that this was Floyd Jr.’s greatest bargaining chip in the negotiations with Pacquiao.

Manny Pacquiao said he understands why fans are clamoring for a fourth fight against Juan Manuel Marquez. Pacquiao said that in his storied boxing career that has spanned 59 fights, it was only Marquez who has given him a real challenge.
“Our trilogy has been as exciting for us as it has been for boxing fans… His deliberate and patient style of fighting is a product that comes from experience, and experience against great opposition. He's a brilliant counterpuncher,” the fighting congressman said in ESPN.
